Ad Sketch Concepts

Okay, so I chose a bad time to start.

I’m actually ending my internship at Freed Advertising (today) and jumping in headfirst to the unpredictable depths of freelancing. No doubt this will be an exciting venture, I am looking forward very much so to continue working with these super cool dudes.

Anyways, the bad timing comes from the fact that it’s 7:30 the night before we leave for Boston and I still haven’t packed yet.

I have the most important box (that filled with grad school apps, web design books, and DVD boxed sets) totally filled, but when it comes to tackling them clothes, I have to admit I’m a bit behind.

Don’t worry kids, I have a sketchbook full of concepts just waiting to get scanned and several mocked up ads for you to check out. Guess what? One is going to the printer ON MONDAY and I’m super stoked about it. Tell ya’ what, it’s actually a pretty big client.

Will be back in 5 days or else.

First but not the last.

In school, I started using one of those super-trendy hipster books that everyone knows and loves, the moleskine. At first, it just started as an idea holder for any of my school assignments — storyboarding for my video assignments, sample scripts for narrative class, loosely drawn site maps for interactive media. Great, an organizational tool that would help me remember everything through the ages.

Then I reached my junior year, after working a year in the field as a graphic and web designer and realized “shit, this is fun and all, but how do I get to do what I really want to do…advertising”. I’m not kidding, my high school senior year profile still proclaims that I’d see myself at an ad agency in the next 5 years — was I on a good track to letting myself down? Most definitely. So, I picked up a copy of “Hey Whipple Squeeze This” and “The Advertising Concept Book” and got cracking, scored an internship, and so here’s some of my ideas. Enjoy.
